Lucy's Epic Day

Eleven-year-old Lucy’s Superpowers are her courage, strength, and grit! When Lucy was adopted from China at 4 ½ years old, she couldn't speak any English other than the word “Batman”! She had a special affinity for the caped hero and said his name whenever she saw his image. Lucy’s greatest "wish" is to walk but she will most likely always be in a wheelchair as she suffers from Spina Bifida. She is an avid sports fan and has a great amount of personal strength, both physically and emotionally.

Partnering with Wishes & More, Super Heroes With Super Kids Foundation was part of Lucy’s “More” for one magical afternoon. Lucy, her mother and brother joined us at our Super Hero Command Center where she enjoyed lunch in a fantastical setting, complete with a surprise visit from her favorite caped hero. The afternoon included a ride in the Batmobile as our Heroine became part of a Super Hero parade through the streets of St. Louis Park, where the St. Louis Park Police and Fire Departments provided a VIP escort to Park Tavern Bar & Grill for a dessert date with Batman! As an avid football fan, Lucy event got to flex her muscles and show off her incredible arm; she can throw a spiral better than most football players!
